Weekly #9 -- Sunday, January 6, 2019

I took a walk through the same woods that I was in last week. Same woods, same trail, but the difference was a few inches of new snow and it had me looking at the same scene in a different way. It also reminded me of the importance of seeing the things that are right in front of you… of how amazing they are.

Ideas such as a possible connection between an image and yourself are pretty abstract. However, they are just ideas (in your head) and there is a difference between thinking about (and assessing) life and living it. We shouldn’t be afraid to think about (and assess) life but we certainly can get stuck there. Essentially, we must strike a balance between the abstract and the concrete. Think, yes. Assess, yes. Evaluate, yes. But also open yourself up to seeing the things that are right there, right under your nose. Here. Now. See the rocks. See the sunlight. See the sunlight on the rocks. And smell the roses.

Image-wise, as seasons change and time moves on, I am frequently led me back to the same pattern of images. But, to me, they are new each time just as what I see is new each time.

Have a great week!
