Dragonflies and mosquitos

Dance in the twilight

Rhythms heard and felt

Quiet as loud as thunder

Night sound in summer

A clean burning stove

Heats the morning air

No resistance

The moon shines upon

Us with the light of the sun

As only it can

Through the field of snow

A mouse scampers and leaves tracks

For us to follow

A coyote cries

And the symphony begins

More sounds of winter

Frozen water hangs

From the edge of the boulder

A well earned rest

The ski binding creaks

With the snow under the ski

A sound of winter

Snow falls on the road

Only to be pushed away

Again and again

Leaves hang from the tree

Colors vibrant in the fall

Ready to move on

Leaves fall from the tree

Transforming before my eyes

Into next year’s soil

Sunlight on the tree

Or is it the other way?

Sharing space again

Water on the trail

The trail under the water

Together as one

Wind through the tree tops

Ruffle the leaves of each birch

Summer excitement

Shadows of a fern

Arranged on the forest floor

And on the stone too

The last light of day

Fades as the hen finds her roost

Natural cycles

The world spins and spins

And will continue to spin

With or without us

Drizzle from the sky

Covering the river beds

The snow is melting (I melt with the snow)

The sun warms my face

While the wind cools my body

Cooperation

Life flows with this stream

As the snow makes its return

After a short nap

Let go of everything

It was never yours

Sounds of contentment

While you lie on the table

My hands on your back

Another snowfall

But did the first ever stop?

No separation

A numbness creeps in

Setting up the next few days

For a clear battle

A cup of ice cream

Sweetness capping off the day

An inch of new snow (New snow on the way)

A draining bathtub

And a towel on its hook

A good sleep comes next

The cold air descends

Into the valley at night

And waits for the sun
